The date was set: Dec. 21, 2003: Members and guests of the 4x4 Philippines forum met at Shell Mocha Blends along Marcos Highway to join the convoy and the Christmas Charity Drive.

We proceeded to the river banks at Kuya Dennis's property, then everyone wanted to play (read: OFFROAD TRAILING) first before having lunch, so that's what we did. We went around the JB loop and when we returned to Kuya Dennis's property everyone prepared for lunch.

After lunch we went to Wolf Den's place to pack all the donations we brought, then loaded them up on the different 4x4's (stock to extreme 4x4 offroad vehicles were present) then we proceeded to Manggahan (this was my first time) but got lost. Hehehe! But then the expat following me with the Nissan Frontier 4x4 called over the hand-held radio, "I know the place. Follow me." So I did. When we got there Mr. Expat said over the radio, "I'm 99% this is Manggahan." but it looked too familiar to be Manggahan... I've been here before! So I asked a local. He goes, "No, this isn't Manggahan. Manggahan is ALL THE WAY THERE!" *gesturing with his arms* then I asked, "Is it near Jungle Base?" He goes, "Yes, turn left instead of going straight up to JB."

Geez. So we wasted fuel and time because Mr. Expat was 99% sure of where Manggahan is.

ANYWAY, when we got there a crowd has formed, waiting for us (as we were the 2 vehicles that are bone-stocks, thus assigned to Manggahan to bring the goods. The other more extremely modified offroad vehicles went ahead to Magata which requires a few river crossings; also check photo above)...

At the end of the day, everything went smoothly, everyone had fun but we will certainly do that again (as some of the families never got anything: there weren't enough goods)

There are 2 photo galleries of this trip. One was taken by our camera, the other I stole from Otep's ImageStation and put in Yahoo! Photos... Hehe!
